Writing Clear & Compelling Job Descriptions for Board, Volunteers & Staff

Registration is closed for this event

A job description has many purposes: attracting good candidates; serving as a foundation for orientation and training; and for guiding performance reviews.  A good job description effectively communicates expectations for board positions, volunteer opportunities, and staff.  Do your job descriptions accurately reflect the expectations, responsibilities and benefits?  Writing a clear and appealing profile is essential to attracting the most qualified candidates when you have a job opening.

An accurate up-to-date job description goes beyond the hiring/recruiting process.  It can facilitate performance reviews for both staff and board.  A best practice of high performing boards is to conduct an annual Executive Director review.

When was the last time you reviewed the job descriptions of your current employees, board members and volunteers?  Are they still accurate?  Jobs and responsibilities evolve and it’s important that the documentation keeps pace.

Join us to learn how to accurately capture the information and create a compelling narrative.
