Grant Writing 102 - Government Grant Proposal Writing Workshop

The next two day workshop is September 11th and 18th, 8:00am-5:00pm

In this workshop, RFP proposal response steps will be recreated from start to finish.
In a team approach atmosphere, youʼll learn first hand how to be poised to respond to government grant opportunities avoiding some of the common pitfalls of responding to larger, more detailed grant applications with tips and insights on:
•advance planning
•the kick off
•the coordinatorʼs or principal investigatorʼs role
•building your team - essential members
•how to effectively delegate responsibilities to key stakeholders/contributors
•how to keep your team focused and on track
•ensuring your checklist of all proposal sections, forms and sign offs are complete
•final measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the proposal package to the funding agency
Other topics include where to search for government grants, review and discussion of successful sample proposals, and management and reporting requirements of government funding.

About the Instructor - Claudia Lucas, MA has a professional background in community services planning, and fund development. Ms. Lucas has been writing proposals since 1988,and started the Written Edge in 1999 providing grant writing and search services to area nonprofits. Her background also includes RFP responses for major account sales while at BCBSNM. Ms. Lucas has conducted grant writing workshops since 2002, with consistent ratings
from “Good to Excellent.”
