Main Areas of Responsibility: 
Manage all external communications activities, including media, advocacy campaign support, messaging, and web and newsletter content, and will also organize and implement special events to promote the activities and benefits of the Elev8 initiative to key stakeholders (elected officials, funders, educators, families and local communities). Report to initiative director, work closely with policy director, community organizers, school site directors.
Additional Areas of Responsibility: 
•Develop, implement effective marketing/PR strategic plans •Lead market research to develop effective messaging •Train, deploy staff and partners as key message agents •Oversee media outreach •Create, manage distribution of online newsletter •Manage content of Elev8 section of NMCF website •Coordinate special events, conference booths •Measure effectiveness of communications efforts •Incorporate new media and technologies •Perform other duties as required
Other Information/Requirements: 
•Bachelor's degree; graduate degree in communications, journalism, public policy, related preferred •Min 5 yrs proven, relevant experience •Experience with and knowledge of social policy, nonprofit management and community-based initiatives, especially programs for youth •Ability to work as part of a team and independently as needed •Outstanding interpersonal, communications skills •Excellent writing, editing skills •Prof in MS Office, databases; graphic design skills a plus
