Main Areas of Responsibility:
OLÉ (Organizers in the Land of Enchantment) is looking for a passionate leader to work as the canvass director for our year-round field canvass. As the canvass director, you will have the opportunity to hire, supervise, and train an enthusiastic group of political activists who want to join us in the fight for economic justice in New Mexico.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
The canvass director works on fundraising, letter writing, photo/video stories, and elections. We fight for workers' rights, reproductive and racial justice, education, immigration, and conservation.
We're launching our Fair Work Week campaign, which guarantees paid sick days and a predictable schedule to all ABQ workers. It also ensures at least 11 hours between their shifts so that they can have enough time to both support their family and spend time with them.
Must be able to work well independently and on a team. Your leadership style should be strong enough to empower your staff & flexible enough to accommodate different personality types. You need at least 1 year of door-to-door canvassing experience & some canvass leadership experience. We're looking for someone who understands that the fight for economic justice is deeply rooted in oppression & privilege, and who can foster a deeper understanding of such in their staff. Bilingual preferred.
