Main Areas of Responsibility:
-Build membership and raise money for environmental and social change groups
-Educate and engage citizens on pressing issues
-Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff in the office and in the field
-Meet with the directors each week to evaluate progress and provide input on goals and priorities.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
While on staff, you will:
-Gain knowledge of pressing concerns facing our country, learn how to effectively generate public support.
-Make a real difference on these issues while getting experience with grassroots mobilization.
-Gain the skills and connections needed to launch a career in non-profit, political, or grassroots organizing
-Build long-lasting relationships with a team of people from all across the country who share your interests and concerns on important issues.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization.
-A disposition suited to working from own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures.
-Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters.
-Flexibility to adapt to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities.
