Type of Job: 
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Overseeing media and communications to engage with the Coalition’s dynamic audiences, including regularly updating Coalition members and partners; and building relationships with communities to empower Indigenous voices, perspectives, and traditional knowledge for the dual purpose of uplifting the Coalition's mission and engaging with broader Indigenous issues pertinent to Bears Ears.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

40%- Support effective public communications and collaboration with partners: maintaining Wordpress website, managing social media, lead editor/contributor for outreach materials, coordinates media/press inquiries.
40% -Support effective organizational communications: minute-taking/distribution, oversees approval for outreach materials, assists in general operations as needed.
20% -Develops strategies for engagement with Native communities to elevate Indigenous perspectives

Other Information/Requirements: 

Experience in communications, public outreach, media and marketing, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred in one of the following areas: communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, political science, and Native American and studies; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Familiarity with indigenous rights, tribal sovereignty, conservation, environment and social justice issues.
