Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The School for Advanced Research seeks a director of development to oversee fundraising programs to achieve the financial needs in support of SAR’s mission. Primary responsibilities include: development strategies, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grants, prospect research, membership and alumni relations, and fundraising events. Position is full-time, exempt.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Creates and executes the strategic plan for comprehensive SAR fundraising, outreach, and awareness conducive to SAR’s growth; identifies and uses opportunities to increase the visibility of SAR; drafts and implements a resource development plan conducive to achieving financial goals; and works closely with others to reach those goals.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Advanced degree / Bachelor’s degree plus five years’ minimum experience in management position in a related field / equal supervisory experience/ museum, education, or research organizations. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing; understand nonprofit management; and a strong working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or a similar fundraising database.
