Main Areas of Responsibility:
Saranam is looking for a part-time Family and Community Coordinator to manage the child and family component of the program. The Coordinator fosters volunteer engagement and facilitates evening life skills and community activities. The Coordinator collaborates with staff, volunteers, and other organizations to provide services to meet our family's needs.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Essential Functions: The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling presenters, managing and motivating volunteers, and facilitating age-appropriate activities (arts & crafts, games, etc.) designed to engage parents and their children to improve life skills and relationship building. S/he will also work to build the family’s self-esteem through positive guidance and nurturing.
Required Experience: Two or more years working with children and families that have experienced trauma, addiction, crisis, and instability; knowledge of or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, human services (Anti-bias and equity training would be a plus); and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
