Main Areas of Responsibility: 

You must bring about systemic change for animals in New Mexico by supporting the passage of legislation at the state, local, and federal level, including but not limited to direct lobbying, bill development, coalition work, and public campaigns.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

You must become conversant in relevant campaigns, Lobby lawmakers especially during legislative session, Testify at committee hearings, develop and prepare lobbying materials, issue and legislative research, coalition work, media/publicity work, monitor legislation, event planning, and fundraising.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate/Law degree a plus but not required. Previous employment experience or academic focus in political science, law, government policy, or public affairs required. Demonstrated interest for the welfare and protection of animals in NM preferred. Familiarity with New Mexico preferred; Spanish or Indigenous language abilities a plus.
