Type of Job: 
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Housekeeper will clean the Barrett House shelter each day, including community bathrooms, dining area, family room, and library; sweep and mop floors; remove trash; deep clean beds and guest rooms prior to new guest arrival; maintain schedule of deep cleaning activities (ex. air vents, refrigerators, blinds, etc.); clean Barrett Foundation administrative restroom every Tuesday and Thursday; mop/vacuum floors in Administrative areas as needed; and report maintenance issues as they arise.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Housekeeper must have the ability to relate to homeless women and/or mentally ill women; strong communication skills (oral and written); attention to detail; and a strong work ethic and reliability. The Housekeeper must promote and encourage safety and clear communication and be aware of emergency evacuation and notification procedures.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The Housekeeper must have a compassionate understanding and acceptance of homeless persons and be a team player. A high school diploma or GED, bilingual, and experience working with underserved populations and cleaning experience preferred.
