Staff Counselor (LISW or LPCC)

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provide group, individual and/or family counseling to women, children, adolescents, and families exhibiting mental health issues related to violence and/or trauma.
2. Provide acute crisis intervention, clinical assessments, status evaluations, and case management services to counseling clients of DVRC.
3. Provide counseling and therapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position; prepare treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

1.Provide acute crisis intervention and emergency services as required; participate in on-call pager rotation for consultation of “high risk” cases.
2. Conduct individual counseling sessions for women and children clients participating in the Bernalillo County Child Witness to Violence Collaborative.
3. Provide individual therapy to teens aged 13-18 who have been affected by domestic and/or dating violence and are primary participants in the Bernalillo County Child Witness to Violence Collaborative.

Other Information/Requirements: 

1. Facilitate a weekly support group for teens aged 13-18 who have been affected by domestic and/or dating violence and are primary participants in the Bernalillo County Child Witness to Violence Collaborative.
2. Provide individual therapy to teens aged 13-18 who have been affected by domestic and/or dating violence and are primary participants in the Bernalillo County Child Witness to Violence Collaborative.
