Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Visitor Services Coordinator creates, and leads staff in providing,
warmth and welcome for all Explora visitors. The Visitor Services Coordinator creates an
admission experience that is friendly and visitor-focused; models and coaches on positive
and friendly visitor interactions for staff; facilitates group and visitor experiences; ensures the
exhibit floor runs smoothly; builds daily staff schedules; prepares daily deposits; and helps at
admissions and in retail.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Experience or education in family learning or informal education; customer service; and/or retail operations
Stellar customer service skills, both internal and external
The abilities to problem-solve, and make good decisions under pressure
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse staff and visitors
Comfort with modern office tools and cash handling
A love of learning
Fluency in multiple languages a plus
Requires weekend and some evenings.
Requires standing and/or walking, with regular need to perform physical actions that include sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling materials, pulling, carrying and pushing.
May occasionally require lifting of various materials and equipment to a maximum of 30 pounds.
Facility may expose employee to loud noise levels, temperature changes and physical obstacles.
