Agency Description:
ABE/GED served over 400 participants last year, and has been operating for ten years. ABE/GED serves Albuquerque’s South East Heights and South Valley with small classes with in-class tutors. Our population is low income, disadvantaged, predominantly Hispanic, and more than half female. Almost half are single parents.
Position Description:
A strong board of directors will access the local support funders prefer. The board will oversee the development of staff and volunteers, work with staff on policies, and champion fiscal and operational integrity.
The strategic vision for our operations and our community integration will come from the board.
Expectations:
Attend CNPE trainings. Attend Strategic Planning retreat in May or June. Meet up to twice a month. The board will take responsibility for 15% of yearly fundraising goals.
The Board will take the lead on making its relationship with the Program Director and the NM Higher Education Department a success.
