Mission Statement:
ARTsmart is a volunteer organization that believes the visual arts are critical to a child’s development. Through charitable donations and events, ARTsmart funds art programs for Santa Fe schoolchildren.
Our annual fundraiser, ARTfeast, is a community project that also promotes economic development
Programs:
ARTfeast, our annual fundraiser in February, celebrates Santa Fe's pre-eminent art galleries and superb restaurants in a series of events that blend the best of the city's aesthetic and epicurean offerings. All proceeds benefit art programs for children in Santa Fe Public Schools.
Endowments. In 2007, ARTsmart created two endowment funds to perpetuate the support of art materials and projects for Santa Fe youth. The General Endowment funds all of ARTsmart’s projects. The scholarship fund is for accomplished Santa Fe high school students who plan to pursue a career in the arts.
Youth Projects. An evolving goal of ARTsmart has been to create and finance youth art projects that promote creative problem solving and in turn raise funds to perpetuate ARTsmart giving. In 2009, ARTsmart sponsored projects involving 25 SFPS teachers and over 1500 children in elementary through high schools. The artworks created by the children are auctioned and/or sold throughout the ARTfeast weekend and in several cases, the sales proceeds are split with the artist/creator.
