Programs:
Operation School Bell provides uniform clothing for schoolchildren in need through referrals from principals, counselors and social workers in the local school dristrict. Three complete sets of uniforms, socks and new shoes are provided. Over 3,250 children in 33 schools received clothes during the 2008-2009 school year.
Assault Survivor Kits provide assault victims with emergency clothing and other essentials.
Buddy Bear Patrol,through Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments, provides new teddy bears to children in times of crisis.
Tender Loving Care furnishes handmade layettes and knitted chemo caps to UNM Hospital.
Blue Portal in Old Town is where seniors bring their handcrafted items for sale. Sales returned over $92,000 last year to more than 500 senior crafters.
Kids on the Block is a national program. In cooperation with the local school district, performances are given by trained members using life-sized puppets. Messages concerning social issues are presented (bullying, safety, stranger danger, and peer pressure).
Kids are Pretty Special works directly with The Bernalillo County Office of Children Youth & Families to provide clothing, hygiene products, toys,strollers, and furniture for their clients.
Sparkle provides hygiene items to the school nurses in the 33 schools that we provide uniforms for.
