Mission Statement:
Food for Santa Fe, Inc. is a non-profit and tax-exempt, all volunteer organization whose mission is to provide supplemental food on a regular basis to those in need.
Programs:
FAMILY BAG PROGRAM is the main thrust of the program. It distributes between 900 and 1,200 bags of food each Thursday morning of the year to anyone in need of food on a drive-through process at the warehouse at the Coll-Green Angel Depot on Siler Road in Santa Fe, including low to very-low income individuals and families, as well as disabled persons, and those who have suffered sudden illness, loss of job or death of a primary provider.
CHILDREN'S HEALTHY SNACKS operates concurrent with the Family Bag program and distributes two small cartons of fresh milk and a selection of either a small box of dry cereal or raisins, cheese sticks or a small pudding cup to each child accompanying adults on days of distribution.
MEALS ON WHEELS and other groups: MOW receives 75 bags of select groceries four out of five weeks of each month, and other smaller groups receive weekly bags, including Adelante and several senior citizen groups.
