FUSION / n: 1. a merging of diverse, distinct or separate elements into a unified whole; 2. a political partnership; 3. the union of atomic nuclei resulting in the release of enormous quantities of energy when certain light elements unite.
Mission Statement: FUSION is a diverse collective of artists, teachers, and business persons that nourish and incite community through storytelling, a forum inspiring reflection and celebration of the human journey. We are dedicated to professional excellence, the awakening of a new audience, and the inspiration of our children, the genesis of our future.
FUSION, the only professional Equity theatre company in New Mexico, each year produces a full season of live theatre stretching from September to June. Additionally, FUSION produces the internationally know original short works festival,"The Seven", as well as a staged reading series, "New Works 4 New Mexico." FUSION also produces a bi-yearly children's theatre tour that visits schools, parks, museums, and day camps. FUSION also administers an Equity Membership Candidate program, which enables
non-professional actors and stage managers to earn credit towards full union membership.
Founded in 2001, FUSION makes its home at The Cell Theatre in Downtown Albuquerque, and partners with the City of Albuquerque to perform at the South Broadway Cultural Center and the Kimo. FUSION also performs its entire season at The Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe.
