Mission Statement: 
NMSEA works to further solar and related arts, sciences, and technologies with concern for the ecological, social, and economic fabric of the region. It serves to inform public institutions and governmental bodies, and seeks to raise the level of public awareness of its purposes.
Programs: 
* SunChaser Program: A nationally-recognized program offers solar curriculum thru its website. In NM, instructors bring hands-on demos to schools and local events. * Chapters: Local/regional chapters offer programs on aspects of solar. Monthly or bi-monthly programs. * Committees: Technology, Solar Advocacy and Solar Fiesta. * SunPaper: Bi-monthly newsletter covers what's happening within NMSEA and thru-out the state in renewable energy (RE) and sustainable building. Follows political developments and solar incentives. * Outreach: Members participate in NMSEA-sponsored and other events - Taos Solar Music Festival's Solar Village, SynergyFest, Solar Fiesta, Earth Day events. * Solar Fiesta!: A 2-day fair with classes and exhibits on RE, green building and sustainable living. Offerings for adults and children. Topics: wind and solar electricity, solar heating and cooling, alternative fuels and vehicles, solar cooking, rainwater catchment, sustainable and efficient building materials. * Solar Home Tours: Usually October, some chapters host tours of new homes built using solar principles and older homes that have been retrofit. * Solar and Sustainable Directory: A listing of products and services provided by companies/orgs In NM in solar and sustainable industries. Includes green financing, sustainable development and education. * Website: www.nmsea.org - educational material, event calendar, the directory, a guide to going solar, volunteer opportunities.
