The Rio Grande Community Development Corporation runs several programs around community health & economic vitality, including:
a) South Valley Economic Development Center, comprised of a small business office and the Mixing Bowl Community Kitchen incubator serving micro-enterprises in the South Valley of Albuquerque (www.svedc.org).
b) South Valley Healthy Communities Collaborative, a collaboration of five programs in Albuquerque's South Valley designed to provide a broad approach to long-term community health issues.
c) Pathways for a Healthier Bernalillo County, a program administered by UNM Hospital to identify community members who need healthcare outcomes. The program the helps participants get those outcomes and documents barriers encountered in the hope of removing those barriers longterm.
d) Encantada TV, a local origination television station on Comcast's channel 26 focused on arts & culture, community health, economic development, and basic education.
e) Place Matters, a project with Bernalillo County to map and identify community health needs.
The RGCDC also serves as a fiscal agent for organizations who do not have 501(c)(3) status but with a similar mission.
