Mission Statement: 

The Food Project serves the most vulnerable in the community by providing the entire household a week’s worth of food once every other month.

Programs: 

The Rio Grande Food Project provides emergency food to the most vulnerable in the Albuquerque metro area. We are the second largest food pantry in the city. The agency is open Mon, Wed, Fre 10-2 and Sat 9-12. Food boxes are distributed according the number of persons in the household and include commodities, fresh produce/bread, dry, canned and frozen food. Food is purchased from Roadrunner Food Bank and local stores or donated by churches. We serve the most vulnerable in our community including children (50%), the elderly (5% over the age of 65) and adults living with food insecurities (45%).More than 50% of our clients are racial ethnic minorities.
