About the Presenter
Roger Burks is a humanitarian writer, editor and storyteller who’s traveled to more than than 30 countries to interview and document the lives of hundreds persevering against conflict, emergencies and tough social challenges. He's participated in disaster responses to Hurricane Katrina, the Japan tsunami, war in Congo, the Indian Ocean tsunami and the Haiti earthquake. Since planting trees as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo almost 16 years ago, Burks has worked for Mercy Corps, CARE USA and co-founded a nonprofit communications agency called Pictographers.
