Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 
Greet and interact with visitors (approx. 55,000 each year). Interpret historic museum exhibits by serving as your time allows Live and Learn the Village Life of Colonial New Mexico Assist visitors with hands-on craft and food activities, such as candle making and bread baking. Weaving Program Learn the skills of the loom in the tradition of the Rio Grande Valley.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 
We are a living history museum dedicated to fostering an understanding of, respect for and pride in the culture, arts, traditions and history of the Spanish Colonial, Mexican and Territorial periods in New Mexico.
Nonprofit Will Provide: 
Extensive training programs are provided on history, culture and arts & crafts. Snacks, Refreshments and lunches on major program weekends
Additional Requirements: 
At Las Golondrinas guides and volunteer greeters (docents) need to wear period clothing. We focus on 1700 - 1912 for costuming purposes.
