Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is seeking high school students (16+) who are interested in science and who want to share their interest with others. We have a unique opportunity for students to engage visitors in a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations. You’ll provide interactive interpretation of science concepts to visitors of all ages.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Primary Duties: Junior Docents learn and present 2 to 4 science experiments are responsible for setting up and putting away the demonstration, tracking supplies used, and providing excellent customer service. Students must be outgoing and comfortable talking to visitors of all ages.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

The Museum will hold quarterly training for students to learn new demonstrations and connect with other Junior Docents.

Additional Requirements: 

Time Commitment: Students must participate in the program through 2 volunteer shifts for per month. Volunteer shifts are 2 hours in length and are scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays.
