Be Part of a Strong, Healthy Community
At the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE), we are driven by one goal:
Strengthen nonprofits in New Mexico.
Why? Because we believe that healthy nonprofits lead to healthier communities.
I know that the knowledge I gain from CNPE trainings is worth the four hour round trip to Albuquerque. It's not only great to learn from experts with decades of experience, but also from fellow attendees who face the same challenges I do.

Our Future is Collaborative & Innovative
- We will launch the New Mexico Nonprofit Principles & Practices Guide
- We will align training to the Guide
- We will have tools available to support nonprofits that use the Guide
Nonprofits in our state will soon have a go-to resource with vetted guidelines, clearly defined requirements and best practices for effectively operating their organizations.
The New Mexico Nonprofit Principles & Practices Guide was developed by the Center for Nonprofit Excellence with support from a 47 member Advisory Committee, including the New Mexico Offices of the Attorney General and Secretary of State.
Available in English and Spanish, the New Mexico Nonprofit Principles and Practices Guide serves as a baseline for nonprofits in New Mexico. This first-ever resource in our state was developed to support nonprofits in achieving their missions more effectively and efficiently.
