Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Arc is searching for a dynamic individual to become our Advocacy & Education Director to oversee all activities of the new Department including identifying all the developmental needs; plan, organize and lead educational/training programs, ensuring consistency with goals and in the delivery and application of training standards; oversee the planning prioritizing and development of new educational programs and initiatives, ensuring they are consistent with the needs of the IDD community.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Strong emphasis on the intent of the advocacy mission; develop and monitor the research and development plans related to advocacy and education of, for, and with people with disabilities; design eLearning courses, career plans, workshops and other educational initiatives; oversee the local and regional Advocates and Coaching/Education Staff: hire, engage, develop, assign duties, provide training and mentoring on supporting people with disabilities and their families; and contract compliance.
Bachelor’s Degree is required in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Learning & Development, Business, Organizational Psychology or related field, Master’s Degree is preferred. CPLP a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience working in training and development capacity, preferably in a leadership position. Experience in content creation, maintenance of training processes and the development of ongoing training and development programs a plus.
