Education Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Coordinates & oversees refugee education programs, including: after/summer school programs for youth; supervises program contractors, interns, & volunteers; develops/maintains partnerships w/ school officials & community service providers; monitors/reports on education programs activity; may include teaching adults in the areas of job readiness, cultural orientation as needed

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Case file management duties, including: case notes & documentation of all services provided; drafting refugee youth education plans; making education/health referrals as appropriate. Completes school enrollment process for all newly arrived school-age refugee youth in a timely manner; attends network/committee meetings as appropriate. Purchases/maintains supplies & education budget.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor's degree + min. 2 yrs. related experience. Cross-cultural sensitivity & knowledge; functional fluency in more than 1 language preferred; broad knowledge of the process of refugee resettlement & US immigration laws; comfortable w/ public speaking/training; excellent English writing skills & ability to analyze statistical data; proven team builder
