Main Areas of Responsibility:
This position handles all of the accounting needs of NIYC, including preparation of financial statements, quarterly and annual statements; uses QuickBooks Online accounting and bookkeeping software; reports directly to the Executive Director; and assists with Audit prep and prepares financial statements, budgets, and reports as needed.
Currently, this is a part-time position (30 hours) with benefits and could become full-time in the future.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
This Position will manage the full cycle of accounting activities; record transactions; reconcile financial accounts (monthly); assist with budget preparation; prepare closing journal entries; and prepare financial reports for Executive Director and Board Review.
This position requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field; 3 to 5 years experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, preferably for a nonprofit. Familiar with all Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance) and knowledge of GAAP is required. Advanced knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software, especially QBO. Audit Prep experience.
