Main Areas of Responsibility:
This role is responsible for maintenance and repair of the administration and shelter building (including kitchen), furniture, fixtures, grounds, and parking lot; upkeep of the community garden; and purchasing of supplies relating to maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, janitorial, and garden items.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
This role is also responsible for meeting with vendors for repairs and inspections requiring specific expertise, such as plumbers, appliance repair techs, and fire safety; and coordinating and supervising volunteer maintenance and gardening groups.
The base schedule is Monday through Friday, but the employee must be flexible and willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
This role requires experience; a practical knowledge covering all aspects of the job; technical abilities in necessary areas; the ability to work independently; the ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion; and the ability to communicate with staff and volunteers about relevant issues. Formal education is a plus.
