Main Areas of Responsibility:
Position is with Para los Niños, a program of the Family Advocacy Center at United Way of Central New Mexico.
Provide direct, professional medical care for children and adolescents with concerns of sexual abuse and sexual assault. Prepares necessary equipment and assists the medical provider during examinations and treatments. Administers medications and vaccinations, applies sterile dressings, performs phlebotomy, monitors vital signs and maintains confidentiality of patient records.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Knowledge of: clinical facilities, instruments, and equipment; experience at a UNM, UNMH, UNMMG Pediatric Clinic, intravenous and peripheral blood draws, preparing and maintaining patient medical records and accurate charting, UNM Cerner, Power Chart, and patient confidentiality policies, New Mexico State Immunization Information Systems, ordering vaccines and medications, specimen collection, handling, and TriCore Laboratory guidelines for specimen processing.
Medical assistant certificate
