Families Impacted by Incarceration

* Fatherhood Reentry Program & Fathers Building Futures is a reentry program for fathers recently released from Los Lunas Men’s Prison or Bernalillo’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Program includes pre-and post-release wrap-around support including family-based case management, parenting education, counseling, job training and placement.

* “Heeling Hearts” is a collaboration between the animal shelter, the corrections department, the prison and PB&J to assist incarcerated women to train dogs in basic obedience so the animals can be adopted. Dogs live at the prison with their assigned trainers, and backup handlers.
