Coming Home Connection
Coming Home Connection trains and coordinates volunteers to provide personal support and in-home care to adults, children and their immediate families in the greater Santa Fe area. Our focus is on end-of life care, brain injuries, long-term illness, disability, children and military veterans.
The focus of Coming Home Connection is to serve families and individuals with compassionate in-home care and personal support directed by the family. Support teams are made up of a network of trained volunteer caregivers who help with end-of-life situations, brain injuries, and other long-term illnesses. Many of our clients have limited financial resources or may need more personal support beyond what their medical or Medicare benefits can provide. Our trained volunteers provide relief for family caregivers, or look after those who have no one else.
Since 2007 Coming Home Connection has trained more than 160 people from all walks of life, including many high school and community college students. Currently we serve from 25 to 36 households each month. CHC provided over 5000 hours of care in the first six months of 2009.
There is no charge for our in-home services or volunteer training. Coming Home Connection is an IRS-recognized non-profit corporation supported wholly by donations from individuals, organizations and foundations.
