Mission Statement:

To promote the understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures of New Mexico by connecting people, ideas and resources.

Primary Programs:

New Mexico CultureNet focuses its programming on promoting literacy through its acclaimed Poets-in-the-Schools program. information about which can be found at www.nmcn.org.

CultureNet places New Mexico poets directly in classrooms to work in partnership with English teachers to mentor and inspire students in reading and writing.

In addition to the Poets-in-the-Schools program, CultureNet has teamed up with Santa Fe Community College to launch POETRY MATTERS, an online video archive of poets reading their works. The videos are accompanied by pedagogical materials for teachers to utilize in working with students.
