Using story to convey both heartfelt need and connection with donors in social media and appeal letters. The 2-hour session will be interactive, with participants dialoging about their mission, programs, clients and goals. Focus will be on structuring stories that will work to convey a clear message in all forms of marketing and communication: social media, virtual and live events, appeal letters, direct mail and video storytelling. Everyone will bring home a good compelling story that is also broken down into different lengths for different formats and communications in order to create a strong unified campaign. Using the tools of successful storytelling in movie and TV script structure we will examine and break down valuable skills used to shape engaging and compelling stories about the urgent need; the solutions; and how You can help us accomplish these goals together. We’ll practice using creativity and visual images, urgency and suspense that will tug on heartstrings, create real human interest to tell a compelling story that has a logical conclusion: Support our work!
