Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

PeopleWorks-NM seeks a Board Member with nonprofit experience, preferably in a mental health or health related field. Will also consider individuals with business management, finance, legal or grant experience. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help guide the strategic direction of the organization, ensure its legal and ethical integrity, enhance its public standing, provide financial oversight, and ensure mission critical initiatives are achieved. You should possess a bachelor’s degree, with Board member experience preferred. PeopleWorks' Vision is to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of at-risk people by providing innovative, relevant and ethical counseling services, educational programs, consultation services and any related services which address the cognitive, relational, and emotional needs of people. We will serve ages 16-116, and specialize in older adults.

Peopleworks serves the Rio Rancho, Albuquerque and surrounding communities. We serve the underserved in our communities, specifically elderly and their caregivers as well as persons who cannot afford their counseling copays or session fees.
