Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The Secretary shall keep minutes of Executive Committee and Board Meetings and business meetings. The minutes shall identify those present, document all votes taken, and be filed as a permanent record. The Secretary submits minutes of the Board meetings to the Board electronically before its next meeting. Minutes will be approved at the Board Meeting and become a permanent record.

NAMI-Albuquerque is an effective mental health organization dedicated to empowering and enlightening Albuquerque’s diverse population through advocacy, education and support. Volunteers are celebrated yearly and acknowledged through the type of work they contribute to the community.
NAMI-Albuquerque accomplishes its mission by:
• Providing education programs for families, individuals, providers and communities;
• Promoting innovative education and support in diverse community settings;
• Working to abolish stigma;
• Working with all branches and levels of government to promote systems change and expand resources;
• Providing safe environments to promote resilience and recovery.

Additional Requirements: 

Once contacted by the Nominating Committee, we will ask you to complete a short application and provide a resume. If your experience links with the needs of our board, we will contact you for an interview and request a bio to present to our current Board. We will ask you to join our open board meetings from now until the position opens, at which point NAMI Albuquerque membership votes on nominees in June.
