Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 
Become a Junior Docent and dazzle Musueum visitors with cool science demonstrations! What happens when you put a marshmallow into a vacuum pump? Is it possible to suspend a beach ball in mid air? We are now accepting applications for our Junior Docent Program. Volunteer work begins in August and continues through the school year.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 
Junior Docents are trained to faciliate our Science a la Carte program, in which they present sceintific activities to Museum visitors. The program helps students develop skills in leadership and public speaking.
Nonprofit Will Provide: 
Training & materials provided. Attend our Orientation session on Thursday, August 1st, at 3:00 pm.
Additional Requirements: 
We accept students ages 14 to 18 into the Junior Docent program. Students must have an interest in science, be outgoing and able to become comfortable speaking in public, and be able to take initative. Parent/Guardian must arrange transportation for the student to/fron the Museum and agree to help the student follow through with their commitment.
