Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Join the Open Space Division and the Nicodemus Wilderness Project in our continuing restoration efforts at the Piedra Lisa Open Space in the Sandia foothills. Tasks may include, trail maintenance, erosion control, native shrub and cactus planting and graffiti removal.

Care of our natural areas benefits the entire community well maintained trails and reduced erosion make Open Space a safer place for visitors and protects plants and wildlife.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers should be prepared to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Sturdy boots, long pants, long sleeves and work gloves are required. Also bring water, hats and sunscreen.
