Varies/ once a week 3 hr. per day. or once a month

Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

There are three opportunities:
1.Team Refugee : Join a trained group of volunteers, that are matched with a family for 6 months. Practice Englis, or general life skills. Group effort- once a week 3 hrs per day.
2.Parent Engagement Club: Focus on different topics to help parents better understand our public school system to advocate for their children. Meet once a month form 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Presbyterian Church.
3. Join the International club at Sandia High or Van Buren on Wednesday or Thursday after school to help with home work or tutoring one -on- one.

This will impact Refugee and Immigrant families who want to improve their English and become productive citizens . Students need support to keep up with their peers and engaged in the community.
