**Note: The Ronald McDonald House Family Room will remain closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but we would like to keep discussing openings with volunteers so that when we open up again we can be fully staffed!**

Ronald McDonald House Family Room
A Place of Respite inside UNM Children's Hospital

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room is located on the 6th Floor of the UNM Children's Hospital in the Child Life Center. The Family Room provides a "home away from home" within the hospital to families with ill or injured children receiving medical treatment at UNMH.

Volunteers must be 18 or over. This is a wonderful opportunity for college students who need some down time to study and give back at same time. Volunteers help with welcoming and registering families, maintaining supplies, and overseeing laundry and computer schedule.

Shifts currently open as of 4/13/20 are:
Sundays 9-12 pm
Sundays 1-3 pm
Substitute Volunteers needed!

Families who are under a great deal of stress benefit greatly from those who serve here. Family members of children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units or the Pediatric Units are invited to make use of this room. Volunteers make it run.

Orientations through both RMHC & UNM Volunteer Services, required vaccinations, background check, application, a commitment of at least 3 months. You will wear a UNMH volunteer service t-shirt while serving here.
