Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Cottonwood Classical Foundation, a non-profit organization, raises funds and other means of support to Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School (CCPS), enhancing its mission to educate the student as a whole – intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically – creating life-long learners.

The Foundation is currently looking for a treasurer to join its working board. The treasurer will work with an external bookkeeping firm to manage the organization's finances and provide reports to the rest of the board. CCPS is embarking on a capital campaign to grow its facilities and knowledge of financing structures is a plus (but not required). The treasurer will work closely with the school's Executive Director.

Board meetings are held every other month, and committee meetings are monthly (or more frequent if needed). The time commitment is approximately 5-6 hours/monthly.

Cottonwood Classical was founded in 2007 and is a tuition-free state charter school serving approximately 700 students (chosen through admission lottery) in grades 6-12. Students come from across Albuquerque and its surrounding communities.
