  1. What is the New Mexico Nonprofit Principles and Practices Guide (NMPPG)?
    1. The New Mexico Nonprofit Principles & Practices Guide is a resource for 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organizations in New Mexico to assess and improve their governance and operations. The guide includes 12 chapters, each covering a key competency needed to effectively manage and grow a nonprofit. Each chapter contains a guiding principle, legally required practices, and recommended standard practices for a given competency.
       
  2. What are the nonprofit competencies covered in the NMPPG?
    1. Advocacy, Board Development, Collaboration, Communications & Marketing, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Evaluation, Financial Management, Fundraising, Human Resources, Leadership, Technology, and Volunteer Management
       
  3. What is the Companion Workbook to the NMPPG?
    1. The Companion Workbook helps nonprofit leaders (1) evaluate their current performance across the 12 competencies, and (2) determine specific practices to implement, in order to strengthen governance and operations at their organization.
       
  4. What versions of the NMPPG and Companion Workbook are available?
    1. There are two versions of the NMPPG:
      1. A free, digital document
      2. A hard copy guide (which may be purchased for $25).
    2. There are two versions of the Companion Workbook:
      1. An interactive digital workbook (which may be purchased for $25).
      2. A hard copy workbook (which may be purchased for $25).
         
  5. How do I obtain the NMPPG and/or Companion Workbook?
    1. A free, digital .pdf version of the NMPPG may be downloaded here: www.CNPENM.org/Guide, or
    2. The NMPPG can be purchased in hard copy ($25):

      2. In person at designated CNPE trainings, information sessions, or other special events with a debit card, credit card, or check. Please note: We are no longer accepting cash payments for CNPE services or publications.
    3. The Companion Workbook may be purchased as an interactive digital file or in hard copy ($25):

  6. If I order the NMPPG or Companion Workbook online, how do I obtain it?
    1. It will be shipped directly to the address you provide online, from our printing supplier in Santa Fe at no additional charge, using UPS Ground Shipping. Please allow 2 weeks for order processing and delivery.
       
  7. How does the process work if I want to buy the NMPPG or Companion Workbook at a CNPE training, information session or other special event?
    1. You can pay at the event either by check, or online with your debit or credit card (using your mobile device or our laptop). We will provide you with your NMPPG and/or Companion Workbook then. Please note: We are no longer accepting cash payments for CNPE services or publications.
       
  8. What if I would like a hard copy of the NMPPG and/or the Companion Workbook, but neither the above payment nor delivery processes work for me? For example, I am in a remote location or unable to pay online?
